What are some of your favourite things to do in your spare time?

What advice would you give to people just starting out crafting?
Try new things. Don’t be afraid as nothing ever turns out perfectly first time round.

What's the hardest thing about running a handmade business?
The amount of time I spend promoting my business on social media - it’s hard work getting it off the ground.

Share a success story with us..
My business is my success story. I started off making Memo Boards for family and friends. I was encouraged by some very good friends to open up a business. I now have a well established business with lots of orders per my month. My loft has been converted into a craft room and I have invested in more equipment to enable me to personalised my products. After giving up my job as an event manager I never thought I would find something that would be as fulfilling and enjoyable. I know have and I can work around my children which is the most important thing to me.

What inspires your designs?
I love sparkle and lots of my designs feature this. I also love pretty things and like to think this is incorporated to the majority of my items. I like to offer my customers a bespoke service, so whatever they envisage I like to make into a reality.

Can you tell us about your design process?
When I think of a new product I like to draw a design out. I then copy my design but am not afraid to tweak as I go along. Something I make things up and then decide it’s not quite right, so I start again until it is right.

What's ahead in the future?
So far it's been a big year, launching new products and stepping up my business with more space to work. My new craft room has given a place that I can store all my equipment and also a space that reflects my personality so that I’m completely at ease and relaxed when working. I love it!
