Creative Craft Supplies was founded in 2014 by Melissa Davin-Smith after she discovered crafting via Manor House Hotel (if you haven't been there she highly recommends it!). Over the years she’s dabbled in sewing, screen-printing, vinyl craft and embroidery and loved it all, which inspired Creative Craft Supplies. Creative Craft Supplies concentrates on great quality products, and over the years developed a range of core craft materials: Wool Blend Felt, Polyester Felt, Fine Glitter Fabric, Chunky Glitter Fabric, Iron on Vinyl HTV. Many of these products are EN71 certified.
So where do we come in?
Many of you may know us from our business Tactile Treasures but those of you who don’t you only need initially to know we love quality craft products, which ensured we crossed paths with Melissa. The time has now come for Melissa to go on to other exciting ventures. As well as giving birth to her daughter in July she also has a son and husband to keep her busy as well another business venture Dream Business Association and needed someone to take over the reins of Creative Craft Supplies. Melissa saw we have a similar vision, while also striving to provide a quality service and with this decided to entrust Creative Craft Supplies to us. We feel extremely privileged that Melissa asked us to take over ownership of Creative Craft Supplies and will endeavour to provide the same excellent service that you have become used to over the years.
We have already established ourselves as a quality EN71 supplier specialising in teethers, noise makers, crinkle and baby safe mirror as well as other CE certified fabrics. This places us well to take over Creative Craft Supplies and really cements our position as a major supplier of EN71 certified products in Europe. You can be sure that you will still get your awesome crafty parcels.
So who are we?
I’m Dawn, a mum of three, who started to sew. In time I started making things for local craft fairs and discovered the world of CE testing. My husband Paul was hugely supportive and after taking my little handmade sewing business through the CE process took it upon himself to find those items I desperately wanted to use but discovered I couldn’t source. This lead to the creation of Tactile Treasures.
We have been running Tactile Treasures since August 2016 – you may well have run into us as shows such as ICHF craft shows, The Quilt Show, Knitting & Stitching shows and Grovsner Quilt shows in Birmigham, Manchester, Exeter, London, Glasgow and Harrogate, to name a few locations. We have also been on Hochanda crafting channel a few times too.
The biggest question we have been asked is “are we planning on merging the two businesses?” Quite a simple no! We feel there is a place for both businesses and although admittedly there is some overlaps each has its own place in the crafting world.
